InfiniteTides

Last year when I canceled my hosting service and moved Infinite Tides to WordPress.com, I knew it might only be temporary.  At that time, I was seriously thinking about quitting my blog altogether.  So it has come to pass that I will be closing down Infinite Tides at WordPress.com.

Fret not!  I am not finished blogging, not even close!  In the very very very near future, I’ll be opening a brand spanking (if you’re into that sort of thing) new site with a completely new address.  I’m in the process of finding a host and buying a domain name (something obvious I think).

Once I’ve secured a host and domain, I’ll set up a new blog in a slightly less than disheveled fashion (I like clutter!). I’ll post notices both here and on my Facebook wall in case anyone is still interested in reading my rants (in a shiny new location).

I see from what I’ve been writing about lately that I have become more aware of my blog’s audience, perhaps too aware.  My hope is that this awareness does not cause my writing to become overly appeasing.  My goal with this blog has been and continues to be the pursuit of honesty and clarity of my own thoughts and emotions through writing.  If I begin to hold back (and I suspect I’ve begun to do so), if my writing becomes less blunt, too measured, vague, and reserved, I will have failed myself as well as those who might read these little blurbs that I post.

My grand hope is that although readers may not always agree with what I write, they might at least see the honesty and self examination in my posts and gravitate a little more toward applying those principles to their own thoughts, beliefs, and interactions with the world.  Therefor, as I write future blog posts, please don’t hessitate to point out any indiscretions of dishonesty or over indulgence you might perceive, because I need you all to keep me honest.

Welcome to Infinite Tides, my bloggy-blog, where I type a bunch of meaningless (and sometimes meaningful) drivel about what’s going on in my life or in my head.

To those of you I know, please feel free to post comments/feedback/criticism/randomness.  I want to hear from you!  To those of you I don’t know, please feel free to do the same.  All are welcome, and I promise not to be too evil in my replies.

Your comments will motivate me to post more often.  They keep me from becoming bored with blogging, because I feel that if no one cares enough to take the time to comment, why should I take the time to post.  So, drop me some words/sentences/prose/poetry/whatever, and I’ll keep blogging my life away.  That’s like a contract and stuff!  You can even email me by clicking the Email Me: link at the right.

This will likely be one of my last posts on Infinite Tides as I have decided to let the domain name expire.  The end date for Infinite Tides should be the last day in August, but who knows if the host will pull the plug immediately.

I’ve been blogging on this site since since October 2005, and although I’ve enjoyed the experience, the site really hasn’t generated the amount of traffic I had hoped for.  Granted, I don’t blog every day, and the site is short on substance, but a few more visitors would have been nice.

Unfortunately, the blogs hosted as subdomains of InfiniteTides.net will also no longer be registered once InfiniteTides.net expires.  I’m sorry about this, but at least their owners will have time to find new hosting if they so desire.
